It is a native fruit to Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean island. In India, it is widely grown in Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. It is ready to harvest in the months of January-Februrary and May-June. It has various health benefits.
